Depends who you ask

If you ask my wife... $9k. If you ask the seller, $11k (includes $500 extra for the 16" phone dials w/tires, stock exhaust, and a few boxes of PF97s.)

I washed it last night after the sun started to go down (102F yesterday here in the far NW burbs of Chicago) and meant to take pictures, but instead grabbed the wife and my 5 year old and we went to get ice cream. I'll try to grab some more pictures tonight (hiding out in the A/C right now!)

As for the harness bar... I pulled it out completely. I figured the sport seats do a good enough job holding me in, I'll give it a shot... it'll keep other folks from walking up to me and telling me, "Ya know... that harness isn't legal for....." Plus I needed to fit my 5 year old somewhere. The harness bar got in the way of the back seat.

Gotta love a black 86 951. Car looks great!

I like your screen name. I used to race a non-turbo GLH in ProRally and also owned a GLHS and GLH Turbo as street cars.

LOL that's pretty close! Your wheels looks smaller than mine... 17s? Great taste, nonetheless!

I think I have a photo somewhere on my PC of a blue GLH n/a in rally trim. I wonder if it's you?

I used to have a pair of '85 GLH Turbos (one blue, one gold), as well as a Daytona Shelby Z back in the late '90s. Fun cars. Blue one was my DD until I got the Daytona (and gave the blue one to my sister.) Gold one was the toy. Custom Garrett T3, FM stage II head, Ed Peters fuel system, Neil Emiro logic module (w/'87 wiring), GLH-S intercooler, the "SLH" brakes (D100 master and LeBaron? calipers). Fun, fun car... when it ran. I'd get it running just in time for the SDAC national convention, would run it all week (drag racing, DE, etc.) and it would usually break right when I got it back home. I'd futz with it over the summer usually before giving up in the fall, and the car would sit until spring.

I'd like to think I've smartened up since then, and took up hobbies with more reliable, less-trouble-prone vehicles.. but then having an old Porsche and a VW in my garage doesn't really help my case any!

(The VW has software, suspension, Porsche brakes... lowly? I think not!!!) At any rate, she took the Audi to work today...

And you are correct - I was referring to ability and pucker factor, not the boost gauge
Ha!

-Yes, my wife got a bit peeved as well, so she bought a nice new SLK350 to sport in the sunshine!

I have the the harness bar and the rollcage in mine, and I still think it may not be fully legal for DE use at all tracks without replacing the seats, but I only really auto-cross it these days... -The harness-bar is a super-convenient place for the camera-mount though, so it stays! -mine is now officially a 2-seater, and my 5-year-old son (sounds like we have much in common!) sits in the front in a booster seat, on his infrequent rides in it.

Agreed I was wondering how many other Chicago folks were on here.

I've got a friend, not on Rennlist here, who also has an '86 951. We should set something up, get a group and meet for dinner or something somewhere and hang out.
