I knew I was going to catch hell for that. I caught it when I was resizing them but, didn't care enough to take new pictures.

Good to hear you have the car back on the road John.
Now get back to making some nice vids of your car, I don't want to be the only one posting videos

I'd love to but, everyone I trust enough to shoot something with is 2,000 miles away. I do plan on making another boost video since so many people asked for a better reading on the boost gauge vs rpms.

I still haven't figured out how I'm supposed to capture both simultaneously though.

Considering I shopped around and the same work elsewhere was 4k I feel like I got a hellva deal. It still hurts because its kept me from finishing other bits on the car I had already planned on being done with by now.

I'm still looking forward to that TRS wing. I would HIGHLY recommend Tom at Advanced Automotive. His prices are really reasonable and his workmanship is top notch. He took me through every bit of the process and we walked over to a bench filled with my old tranny parts some broken, some worn out. He really took time to babysit me and that makes me feel good about the work. He also Guarantee's everything. I wil be sending the car back to him again in a couple of weeks for some shifter bushings, suspension work, and a few other tidbits.

Even after I move THIS will be the shop I use from now on. I will post pics later today.

I guess you figure it was cheaper to rebuild it in the long run rather than putting a used tranny in, huh? This is something i should save up for... My guess that bill would translate to $4000 CDN maybe a bit more. Between that and a clutch change down the road i should really start saving my pennies now.

ABSOLUTELY!

It's REALLY easy to get caught up in mods and go faster gear.
None of that stuff is worth a dime if they are getting crammed onto a crumbling platform.
I don't know about a tranny, but having a general fund, set aside, is a really good idea. Either that or make a long term list, broken down by needs, then wants, and save/buy according to you list. Never deviate from the list unless you come across a ridiculous deal, for some other item ALREADY on your list.

I'm guessing that the 997 guys NEVER have this discussion.

Because they have higher budgets than we do, or because their cars are fast enough?

For $20k, you can have Evo Motorsports bolt mods onto a 997 TT that gives is 700+ HP!! Can you imagine that in a 951? Even if it is possible, it's going to cost more than $20k...

If you can afford a 997, you ain't on a board discussing the financial aspects of saving for ANY part. ROFL!

20k is more than 99.999999999 % of 951's are even worth!

Nope, they aren't discussing the personal financial realities of replacing a clutch or tranny!

BTW Van,

Were you sorta picking a fight, or did you really not get the joke?
