18" Cup II replicas not fitting
Well, I bought some 18" Cup II replicas a few months ago and finally got around to doing a test fit. It didn't turn out so well. These wheels came off an 89S track car, so I figured they should fit my '87 951 and my '91 S2 with no problems.
I put them on the '91 S2 and they clearly stick out in the rear. The fronts are perfect though. The wheels are 18x8.5 et 52 and 18x10 et 47. The rear offset is wrong isn't it?
So will these wheels fit? Who else is running 18" cup II replicas with the same offsets, on a late offset car? Below are some pictures of them on my S2.

I was able to fit 17x9 C2 Turbo replicas (the fat 5 spoke) on my car with a 46 offset. Using the 255/40 Pilot Sports they fit no problem. I put on 275/40 Kumho XS and had rubbing issues in the back. Ended up rolling the fenders and that fixed the problem. Not sure how much of an issue you will have with those, i reckon if the offset was like 48mm on my wheels i would not of even had a problem with rubbing. Annoyingly my fronts are 17x7.5 and with 245/45's they rub a little also on the outter lip (even with factory rolled fenders), the offset is also 46mm.. not sure what the heck they chose such a low offset for on these aftermarkets. But i guess it does make for a wider stance and flush wheels.
Mind you i have just Koni's all around with stock springs, so my car is pretty soft.
In short, i think you can probably get away with it with a stiffer rear suspension, rolled fenders and nothing to crazy in terms of tire width.

It's difficult to see what's going on in those pics. I never expected my 295s to fit until I actually lowered the car off the jack. The rears really "tuck in" when you weight up the suspension.

Damnit. Just as I suspected. The fronts are perfect. I believe the 18x10's on my S2 are 55 or 65 offset and are perfect.
Its just odd. They ran these on an 89S track car...

I may have to sell just the rears, which is going to suck. Not really anyone is going to want to buy just rear wheels.
Alex- What size are your rear tires? Do you think you could do me a huge favor and figure out the offsets on your rear wheels?

They should fit with no problems. The 89S they were on did not have fenders rolled or custom hubs. Also, once you lower the car off the jack, they should just fall into place with tires installed.
