Another place you will see some very interesting stuff is on homemade turbo. Or some of the DSM forums. I learned quite a bit about the Holset turbo and saw some pretty crazy fitments over there.

Here's some incar footage of a local S2000 that has over 500whp. On street tyres and this guy can drive just a bit. Looks very controllable though. How quick does it spool though???

that car looks like a handful. Look how short the shifter throws are.
What are the specifics on the turbo?
