Default Progress.

So, I started dating my bride to be back in May of 2003. In October of that year I bought my 1986 951. It was in really nice shape but it had an issue with shutting down at 4500rpms+. So I figured that I could do a nice tune up over the winter(03).

Now, 6 years later and god knows how much money, I am finally at the last few steps. From the bottom up this motor is new and with all the best stuff (cam, clutch, pistons, rods, pulleys, crank) you name it. The sponsors of this site have me on a first name basis now.

So, in the next few days I will be asking all of you all kinds of different questions about how things hook up and other trouble shooting tips. I hope you don't mind.

I've got to give respect to all of you for helping me get this far. I would not have been able to complete this project with out the help I received from the members of Rennlist.

Thanks.

Progress is great. I hope to make a little in the next few week and get my engine ready to go back in the car. My build has been halted for over 2 months, hopefully it does not take years to go back together.

Jonathan,
You definitely have a part in this, how many things have I gotten off you?

SFR stage 1 is correct, with Swain coating.

Not really sure. I do appriciate the use of the tools. I now have my own complete setup. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Looks great so far. One thing i noticed is you might have to reroute your oil feed line for the turbo. When mounted the way you have it, i had interference with the throttle linkage. No way to work around it with the turbo water pumps position. I ended up going right through the brake booster heat sheild.

DDP,
I have the Lindsey modified x-over with Swain coating.

Techno Duck,
Good to know. Do you have a picture with that oil line setup?

That didn't take long at all to finish it up. Now, the white headers glowing red hot will be...pink? Got to take a picture of that. Looks great.

Here are some picture of how i did it. You might be able to make it work if you really played around with the routing, but i wasnt able to get the intake manifold to even seat due to the oil line hitting the throttle cam. The line cant be routed lower to clear because of the turbo waterpump is in the way.
