Default Another Front Tire Size Question

hi, so i have an '86 951 with 17" Cup 1 wheels and about 25mm spacer front & rear. front wheels are 7" wide and rears are 9". currently i have michelin pilot sports (first model) in 225/45 F and 245/40 R which i really like but i would really like more grip from the front. the front seems to be the limiting factor in cornering so i would like to go with less stagger. what sizes do you guys recommend? would 245/40's be a good choice all around and would they fit ok on the 7" wheels? eventually i would like 255/40's on the rear as porsche & the good lord intended (i got a good deal on the 245's) but i realize 255's would not be too good on a 7" wheel so i'm thinking 245/40's in front and 255/40 in rear.

also, i really like these tires and i'm wondering how the PS2's compare? i'm sure they are better but do they give up any treadwear as that is the main reason i went with the pilot sports.

thanks for all your great tire knowledge.

oh, yeah, street car with stock suspension except for koni sports and 26.8mm front sway bar.

Find another pair of 9's on ebay and run 255's all around. I wouldn't put 245's on a 7" wheel.

8.5 or 9 inch rims all around with 255 40s really helped my handling and braking on the track. You would have to be doing some pretty aggressive street driving to need the big rubber up front.

275's on nine inch rims all around are even better, but they only fit in the front with a track alignment.
