Default stock downpipe size?

i was looking to upgrade my downpipe to the lindsey 3in but i was looking at mine the other day and it looks pretty big. I was wondering the pros of getting a 3in downpipe?

inner diameter is about 2.25 inches. Looks big from the outside but there is a sleeve on the inside. Kinda small if you have an upgraded turbo. The fabspeed unit a nice compromise and comes with 2 copper gaskets for $250. Diameter is about 2.75 inches but fitment is great and it clears all the heatshields. YMMV
