Can I bolt Corbeau seats in without using Corbeau's slider brackets?
Howdy,
I've pretty much decided on getting either Corbeau Forzas or FX1s. I am wondering if I need to have the slider brackets that Corbeau sells for their seats, or if it is possible to fabricate a simple adapter out of bar stock myself that would bolt the seats to the existing factory rails?
The reason is that I am going to use a fixed seat back brace, so the "sliding" feature of the Corbeau brackets will be useless anyway...
Has anyone bolted these seats in without using the slider brackets?
Thanks!
Gary

Thanks for the replies; forgot to mention, this is my 1986 951.
I haven't looked at the way the sliders attach to the factory seats. I haven't removed the seats yet, because I still need to drive the car
I figured I have two options: (1) remove sliders from factory seats and attach them to Corbeaus, or (2) remove slider brackets from the car, and fabricate an adapter that would adapt the holes in the Corbeaus to the holes in the car's floor pan.

I have the fx1 pro seats installed. I am 6' and had to get a little creative to clear adequately with a tall helmet.
I managed to keep sliders with my own fabricated mount brackets. - can post pics if interested

EDIT
looks like I got a little off from your original question - yes you can fab up mounting brackets fairly easy if you do not want/need sliders. The cannot be flat however as the front of the seat will be downhill. will need to mount on an angle - reclining back a bit

I don't know about Corbeau seats but with a little work I managed to install some Cobra Misano seats in my car using the stock sliders/mounts. The driver's side required some cutting since the stock seat was power but nothing that can't be done in any garage.

I mounted my sliders backward (intentional) as I also use a seat back brace.
Avoid somebody jumping in the car and trying to force the seat movement. while brace is locked
can't tell in pic but the front is shimmed between the bracket and rail as well.
Had to clearance the floor at rear a fair bit to recess rail and get the back of the seat down.
This setup moves the seat down the further back you slide the seat back.
