Not to sharp-shoot, but DSM are low-impedance injectors. They simply have a resistor pack as part of the engine wiring harness.
I've ran stock DSM injectors in my 951 without problem.

Its not just a simple matter of impendence, there are two types of injectors that need two different types of signals.
Low impedance injectors are a ‘peak and hold’ type – they require a signal that has a large initial peak current (typically about 4-5 amps) followed by a low current signal to hold then open (1-2 amps) this makes for a faster opening injector the responds to the signal duration more accurately.
High impedance injectors use a simple square wave signal of medium amperage. These tend to open slower than the peak and hold type.
Adding resistors to a peak and hold type and then driving it with a square wave will work, just not as well as a proper peak and hold set up. Will you notice the difference? Maybe, maybe not, engines are pretty tolerant of mixture variations especially at or near idle where this would show up.

Chris,

FYI, We are idling 160lb low impedance injectors with no problems. Need I say anymore? Can anyone else here claim this? Not a dig, I'm just saying this system works fine regardless of your injector setup.

ps - For the original poster, can we not go OT on this.. Feel free to start an injector thread..

Sorry Michelle.

Just trying to shed some light on low impedance vs high impedance and what the difference is.
Tacking on resistors to change the impedance of an injector is not really the ‘best’ solution; sure it functions...just not optimally.
BTW – the stock 951 injectors are the exception to the rule – they are a midrange impedance injector – pretty uncommon.

Just returned from having the air temp sensor installed. The side walls of the intake manifold were too thin, but the rear (by the oil fill) was thick enough to get a nice bite. Looks good!

I wouldn't disagree with this. And I couldn't understand why they built it that way, although I'm sure they had their reasons. But at the same time, if you're bothered by something as simple as resistors I wouldn't recommend a standalone system. With all things considered, with the exception of Megasquirt (of course), the Link unit is very capable for a competitive price.

I just wouldnt want to mess up my gorgeous wiring harness to stick resistors in there, when I have like $500USD in two sets of low imp injectors that id rather use to the best

Well, I'm pretty much done. I have to wire the ballast resistors and find a Subie wiring diagram to hook up the coil. It's a great feeling!

Michelle, Nice stuff I am excited for you. I'm planning on joining this small club myself here soon.
We all need to get together at evils place with lots of beer and discuss this system.....and all the other cool isht Dave is making.

Link makes a hand-made harness for the 951. Nice stuff. It's worth the price to play all by itself!
