Hi
I just wanted to share my experience in replacing Guru chips (which I acquired some years back when they were the big thing) with Vitesse for my '86 car. I run a fairly conservative set-up, previously with Guru chips, 3 bar FPR, and MBC set to approx 16 psi. A recent run on the dyno showed that whilst I was getting decent power numbers, the car was running dangerously rich. Hence the change in chip vendor.
Since installing the Vitesse DME chip, I can say my car idles better (hot or cold); is significantly smoother and more responsive getting on boost; and whilst I have not gone back to the dyno yet, the car feels quicker (I'd guesstimate 20 rwhp) and that I'd say is mainly due to a cleaner AFR, as boost pressure has not really changed.
I hesitated for quite a while to change chips, having already outlayed $ for the previous ones, but my only regret is not having done this sooner. Money well spent and my car is going so well, installing these Vitesse chips has re-ignited my passion for these wonderful cars! Plus the service / support has also been great (and John has been very patient with the many questions I have had).

Curious; did you use John’s chip with a stock AFM? I’m thinking about going with his MAF with piggy back soon and wondering if would still need the chip too. Right now am just stock.

Sweet. That does it then, John gets another sale...as soon as I round up a few more $. Won't waste any money on other chips etc. etc. Oh yea, it's a 2.5 with only real mods Tial 38mm and To4e with #44 compressor. John says go as big as you want on the injectors since can control that, but since sounds like you guys have done it already; what is a reasonalbe size for a street car? Have two sets of stocks ( one back from Witch Hunter ) but know why that is way too small.

In my talking with him I am going to be gettin the 83# injectors so when I do get an even bigger turbo I won't outgrow the injectors., by the way right now the car has the lindsey sport turbo with the #10 hotside

I think maybe the Lindsey Sport is very similar to what I'm building with. I had my K26 rebuilt with full thrust bearing, stock hot side with a To4e Garrett grafted on, #44 compressor. I had the guys at G-POP Shop in Arkansas do it though. (like the price and seem to know turbos, nice guys).

I'm a bit curious as well. I'm by no means a praiser of Dannos work, but his chips on the dyno (in my car, at 16psi) had a fantastic A/F curve. I think there has definitely been better ignition maps out there, but his fuel maps were pretty great for an OTS chip, in my car at least...

He has a chip for the stock AFM which I am running. you do need a 3 bar FPR with that chip. He also has the setup for his MAF.
