Default LR turbo filter.

I got a package from LR today and I am disappointed. One of the items I ordered was the oil line turbo filter kit. I don't believe that it is complete. You tell me what I am missing.

I didn't even get a packing list to compare what parts I did get.

Braided line-check
factory crimped o-line fittings-check
Filter-check
rings-check
barbed fitting/coupler- check

Look like it is all there.

I don't think so.

If I have to cut that hose in 2 pieces to put the filter in the middle, I would need 2 more barbed fittings. I compared this to the photo that they have on the website.

I believe that line was suppose to be sent without any fittings on it. Now, that line is almost useless unless I wanted to run it with out the filter. I need to make one piece that has the banjo bolt and the right angle together. That piece would connect the balance shaft cover side to the filter. The second piece would have 2 straight line connectors, 1 side from the oil filter, the other to the turbo.

So what do I do.

the picture on their website at the top of the "turbo oil filter" page (showing it installed on a car) says it all.

My picture is exactly as it came. Nothing more. I am missing 2 straight line barbed connectors. The line has 2 fittings installed unlike the LR's picture. I can't put it together with what was sent to me.

At the very least you are missing two fittings. I am guessing they intend for you to cut the line yourself. Mine came pre-cut.

Techno Duck,
I was paying for the one you got to. I'm sure they will correct this for me, they're good like that.. Glad to know I'm not crazy though.

I'm mostly disappointed because I was gonna get to drive it this weekend for the first time in 5 years. I'll have to put it off another week because of shipping time.

Your missing two fiitings for the filter. Mine came as one long line which I cut where I wanted to put the filter. I would've been upset had they cut the line for me.

Just install it now without the filter so you can drive it then cut the line and install the filter when you get the fittings.

The stock line didn't have a filter so it's not required to use it, just nice piece of mind to have it.

I would have been glad to take it up with them directly but know one answers the phone after 5pm on Friday and now I have to wait a whole weekend. At least this way I will get someone's attention. Also, this is engine has been completely rebuilt. The reason I got the filter was because I don't want the debris left over from the rebuild ruining my turbo.

Yeah, well. I've learned the hard way myself. It's just bad manners to do what you did on this thread. They made a mistake and will correct it as soon as they're open.

gcb951,

We apoligize for the shortage. You missing two -4 straight fittings.

We would be happy to shoot the missing parts out to you, but it's Saturday and there isn't much to be done. We purchase those kits from a hose and fitting supplier and it's "supposed" to have all the parts included in the bag. Obviously it doesn't, so we end up taking the hit and responsibility for thier mistake.

We originally had no fittings installed on the hose. Then we had customers calling because they
managed to break the 90 when installing it. It does seem a little dellicate because of it's size.
So we decided to have the supplier pre-install two of the fittings, so the end use only need to install the remaining two. The easier type. The customer would cut the hose in the middle somewhere depending on how they wanted to route it, and install those.

Give us a call first thing Monday, and we can fix you up. We realize that doesn't help you
out today.

On the outside chance you have a local speed shop that has fittings, feel free to purchase them
and we can re-imburse you. You need two straight -4 fittings for a rubber lined braided hose. It's
a 200 series hose if that helps them.
