I have a feeling Chad hasn't revisited this thread for a little while. He can often be found on the Racing forum.
$300 per wheel is a great deal Tony esp for those widths.

Unfortunately I bought the last two sets of 17" barrels... this due to the fact that the company here in the US was bought up by another company, and that company decided to stop making the low volume barrels... which are the 17" and 19" (according to the company that does the custom wheels).

There's a problem in the supply chain.

That said... it's gonna get tougher to get custom multi-piece wheels made/modified due to the shrinking stock on hand.

I got the last two 17" pieces, which is why I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

Tony- So they can't just sacrifice another pair of Cup II's to add to the 9's, instead of using aftermarket barrels?

Didn't the Lindsey guys use Mitsubishi barrels to widen their wheels? That might be worth looking into. I've been eyeing a set of widened 17" cupII's myself.

The premium you have to pay for 18" performance tires (especially for lower aspect ratios) is a real drag. The insult to injury is that I know my autocross times would be a couple tenths quicker with 17s too.

I was just on the phone today with the wheel widening guy... and he told me that the lack of 17" barrels is probably temporary. So you may be able to get them done in the not-to-distant future.

With respect to using other wheels as donors.... I have no idea what can and cannot work. I just pay the man.

Hey Doods...

I have not checked on this for some time. In fact, I thought it was dead in the water. However, if we have 15 folks, I can contact the manufacturer to see if we can get these made.

Thoughts?

C.
