Yeah lots of 50k 951's on this board. Its pretty common. Its expected to never see a real return on this kind of investment.

993's are a entirely different ball game. They really hold their value well. Nothing really in the used porsche market right now holds its value like a 993.

I agree and understand /\

I really want to keep it, that's why I traded with him. But sometimes life gives some interesting twist.

But what's interesting is while some of you been bashing me, I have a good offer on the table. Hopefully I can get a little bit more for it. If not, that's ok. I know I have one of the most well built modified 951's around.

Thanks for everybody’s support.

Best of luck to you and your sale. We are just being honest about the price. If you can get someone to pay 28k, I think thats fantastic. It does nothing but, help us out.

Good luck with the sale, I hope you get more than 28k for it, that means mine is worth a lot more than I think it is right now, lol..

Absolutely. There were 19 996's under $20k in the Auto trader two weeks ago and 2 993's under 13k. The 996's averaged out to be about $18,600 with an average of 71k miles.

On the other hand there were some fine examples of 951's going for just a few grand shorter. 951's with under 60k miles and a few SOLID upgrades OR 951's that were complete OEM stock and under 40k miles were going for an average of $15,300. These cars were not even close to Jud's or Antonio's.....and they sold.

It all seems relative to location and availability. Here in the Hampton roads (Norfolk, Va Beach, Newport News, Hampton,etc...) area, abused 951's have been moving easily at the rate of about $8-9k a pop, and abused NA's for $4.5k- to $6k.

Now I do not know about getting $28k but here, he could get $18k-21k all day long.

Fact...not fiction.

Yeah man, it is pretty crazy...but that's what happens when all of these wall street banker types flood the market with lease and owned cars after they get whacked. First thing to go is always the cars....good thing they don't own '51's

this is what a bunch of people seem to be missing. asking price for 951s often have very little to do with selling price. i'm aware of 951s locally that have been listed for over a year. those that really need to sell end up having to sell for drastically less, the others end up keeping their cars.

take a look at ski's car that he sold recently, for example. that would be the definition of pristine, compare asking price on that to this.

anyway to the OP, good luck with your sale, i would love to know how much you end up getting for it.

money in the car rarely counts, in the 3 951s i've owned, i probably have more money in them than the cost of a 996 turbo, but someone would have to be crazy to trade me a 996 turbo for the 3 of them. and honestly i think the second part of your sentence is pretty contradictory, if the trade is fair then both parties should be able to sell the cars for the same price with the same effort.

oh well i don't have a dog in this fight, just trying to point out that 28k is not realistic for that car, OP is well within his rights to ignore more.
