Bruce I really like your roll cage.

Cleaning the interiior is on my list of things to do this summer. From using the search engine, it appears that there is no substitute for using some fairly intense solvents. Be extremely cautious using these be sure to have good ventilation and a mask with the proper filters for the chemicals being used.

The one draw back to the removing of all of this German engineering will be an increase in temperature and noise inside the driver's compartment.

I tried dry ice however did not work for me. Best on the tar paper was a paint scraper under the tar mat and lift it off by pushing a piece a time

for the glue, I found 3m adhesive remover worked a treat.

Just dont do what I did. Soend 40 hours cleaning and painting and now going to spend the weekend fitting carpet to cover up my hard work so I can still race in class

Old hard adhesive remover, available at Home Depot and Lowes. I just did this project a month ago. Wear a charcoal mask and do it outside.

Took me 40 hours to strip my race car, using heat and Xylene and some scrapers.

The Sherwin Williams paint stores carry Xylene around here......just an FYI in case you need some and have a SW store nearby.

I have to add that Xylene is excellent for getting the glue off. Lucky for me there is a Sherman Williams store 2 blocks from my house. I used Xylene to get the old adhesive of the underside of my hood. I let it soak in and the rest was effortless.

xylene is in the paint department at Home Depot. I think it's called xylol or something like that. Used to use it as an additive to my pump gas.

After you've taken the initial cut of sound deadening off,

Another little trick, the xylene is the best but don't just use it with a rag. Get a scotchbrite purple pad, soak the xylene in that and go to town. It adds some "sandpaper" affect to the xylene. The scotchbrite pad can get pretty full of stuff before it's too dirty to use. It saved hours and many rags and really cleaned it up nicely.
