Default 55psi on stock injectors and fuel pump = ok?

Am I safe?
Previous owner of car did set 55psi (Lidsey AFPR) - (fuel rail gauge 50psi at idle 55psi ar rpm's) on stock injectors and fuel pump as well as rised turbo to 16psi.

I am so sorry if I'm asking a dumb questions......

Id question WHY he jacked it to 55PSI at idle. Do you have a wideband?

That's almost 4 bar fuel pressure plus 1 bar from the boost pressure. That will put extra stress on the injectors and the DME computer; very possible that you will break them. Also, the fuel pump will have only a little better than 50% capacity to put fuel into the engine, which may or may not matter.

I've run 60psi at the fuel rail for 4+ years. The big question isn't if the injectors or fuel pump are OK but are the chips in the car giving the right mixtures with that fuel pressure. You need a wide band to know if the mixture is good.

That's no problem for a Bosch injector.

No, I do not have a wideband, just a narrow one, which shows i'm running a little rich. He told me that he rised a little of lb via mapping chips, but i'm not sure what does it means?

Do I understand correcly? By chip you are adjusting injector duty cycle to optimise air/fuel ratio?

So actually there isn't any difference by running 55psi or 40psi, you just have to adjust duty cycle? What's the point then?

to up the capacity of the injector output

I have ran at higher pressure on E85 for some time.

I just had an injector fail but it most likely due to me running them at 100% DC and not pressure.
