I noticed last night that the boot on one of my ref sensor connectors is ripped open, so maybe some moisture got in there and corroded it or something. I'll check that out next. The good news is I got it to start last night (and this morning)! I suspect that all my fiddling with the ref sensor connectors did it.
That really sounds like it's the problem. You're going to need to either replace the connectors like in 951Porschiste's link above or replace the whole harness with a Lindsey one. I just had this problem a few months ago. There are bare ground wires in there and a ripped boot leaves them exposed. If you are going to replace the connector anyway, you can tear the boot a little to make sure the wire's aren't interacting with eachother in there and fill it with some epoxy for the time being.

You can get just the connector but the Lindsey unit is really a good.

Exposure to heat + The fact that they are attached to the bracket, but the wires are not. So when the engine flexes, the connectors move one way and the wires move in another direction.

Check out "Crank Sensor/Problem" I probably have the same issue as you.. I replaced the sensors/harness and still have a problem.
