Spencer- 285's fit the wheel well perfectly fine. I have 285/30/18's on my '91 S2 (posted in that link). The wheels do get close to the brake cable and have rubbed it at times somehow. All in all, they tuck in their nicely and with a little measurement and finessing, 295's will go under my '87 951

So after about an hour of driving around town, no back roads yet, I didn't have any rubbing issues with my stock suspension. However, there is A LOT of road noise, maybe its just the pzeros but it is quite loud.

Tried to install the fronts today even though the caster blocks aren't here. Look like I'm going to need to get my spacers machined, anyone no how much they need to be machined?

did it need the 15mm spacer to clear the suspension bolts or was that just to push the wheels out a bit? how much clearance is there now between tire and bolts?
I tried fitting them without the spacer and it did rub that bolt along the handbrake cable. Even with the 15mm spacer the cable was still too close for comfort, solved with a few zip ties for now.

Looks great! Your car along with Kyle's and Vwvortex's have change my opinion on gold.

Not to steal any thunder, but Keith, if you're contemplating a 968 hatch...here's what it'll look like! (sorry I only have 285's! ) Rather then clutter this thread, I figured I'd post a link. Quite a few photos of my '91 S2 with OEM Hollows with 285/30/18 rubber.

P.S...I just read the thread and realized you replied first on it! lol
I really want a 968 or 91 S2 hatch and I've been looking for one frantically. I'd prefer to just buy the wing and trim but it really doesn't matter cause I'd retrofit it to my good hatch. I have a repro wing kit but it doesn't fit right and I don't like how its held down.

Nope, but 285 on a 11" is a bit of a stretch . My quarters are rolled but I have a feeling someone with time, money, and patience could get 305s to fit. However, I don't have too much of those qualities right now.

Oh how much I'd love to have 305's under a worked, stock body.

To me, 285/295's are big...but don't seem big when you see that the fronts are 225-245. A 305 is in a whole new number level lol. That's quite a bit of work though to shove a 305 under there.
