Its a Bridgeport fitted with a Prototrak CNC controller - nice shape with chrome ways, ball gear shafts, and a nice large table. Great for making up prototype parts or just cranking out some odds and ends.

[QUOTE=Chris White;6413340][QUOTE=white924s;6411947]Looks great. Very slick dry sump setup and custom intake. Any idea what kind of power it'll make?

I figure it will make 'enough'.
Since I am a road race guy by trade I am more interested in reliable long term power that can stand up to 60 minute full power sessions and last for at least a season. Based on that my target is a minimum for 500hp, anything over that is gravy (I would guess at 500 - 600 crank hp).

If I wanted to make a dyno queen out of it I would have to switch turbos and cams and I would not be suprised if I could see 800hp (crank) for a one time peak number....but thats not going to happen - its set up for a wide power band and not high peak hp.
Nice - I think even 500 would be "enough" for me haha. Should make for a very fast car

Chris, how would you 'rate' the dry sump system in terms of completeness and installation requirements? Was it a mostly cut and dry in terms of installation or did it require some custom work on the installers part? I saw you did the lines yourself, but was wondering if there was anything else about it?

Also any idea on how much the engine can be lowered with the shallower oil pan?

Truly an awesome engine right there. Id love to go dry sump and kiss away the worries of poor oiling on the stock bottom end. Maybe one of these days.. .

The engine looks great!
Can you share any info about the coming 16v solid lifter package?
Any pics of the worked head?

We have lifters in production for the 16v (35m). They will use the same newly designed lash caps we use on the 8v lifters (38m). It's being set up to drop right in a stock motor using factory valve tip height and stock cam base circle. There is a seperate intake and exhaust lifter because of that. So you could simply change the lifters, and do a cam swap or head work later. If your valves have been ground, and the tips not set a book height, then you "may" have to pull the head and tip them or grind the lash caps thinner but we have a minimum we would like to see those stay above. Full details will appear on the allready started 16v solid lifter page. This will be available for you to purchase the parts only, or have us do the entire set-up. Our 8v lifters are now available as a kit for those wanting to do them but we suggest you have a good shop to do the work as per our specifications.

Looks good. There is something familiar in those pics but I just can't put my finger on it?

Interesting project and thanks for the update Chris. Can this 'system' be installed and still retain both the a/c and p/s?

It already has.

I like the philosophy of keeping the power in check to retain reliability. That's what we all should be aware of. Something to do with getting older I guess.

LOL, I thought so....very creative lad, that one...

I met him at lunch in BR once to look over the project car that this suspension came from when he was at Brian Harris Porsche.

IIRC, the car started life as an NA but it was turbocharged when I saw it......quite a few one-offs and original ideas on that car, mostly from GT3 Cup Racing donor parts and leftovers...., beautiful body and paint work too. The car made several appearances as a whole on ebay....no takers.

I think he runs a place called Werkstatt (sp) now in N.C. or Virginia....?
