Default spark plugs on E-85 engine

what spark plugs do you recomment that I use, on my e85 951 engine?

engine got Haltech E6X with wasted spark(2 dual coils), 60-2 trigger wheel, magnecor kv85 wires and E85.. it will have around 450whp.

since I will run e85, what heat range on spark plug is best? the car is for track only.

def 8's. Sam at pro-technik suggested 9's or higher for enduros.
(ngk standard rating)

For enduros, I would use the non-projector tip NGKs...
So, a BR8ES or BR9ES...

Double-post.
BTW I run 8's in my 951, which is nearly a DD...

Just for my edification, how are these plugs different, if at all, from what should be run on 91 octane pump gas?

The plugs are not different from regular gasoline use plugs... in fact, one can usually get away with a little bit 'hotter' plug on E85 then gas.

For a modified 951 running ~1bar of boost, I would use the NGK BPR7ES or BR7ES. The stock plug (BPR6ES) is to hot for a modified car, IMO.

what do you mean by non-projector? whats the diffrence?

just to make some things clear; 8's and 9's ngk plugs aren't too cold with E85?

I will be running 1.5-1.8bar of boost, becouse of a "small" 57mm SFR Dual BB turbo, P-trim wheel.. I think 8's would be best for me... but BPR8ES or BR8ES?

8ES are not too cold for a modified 951. I ran these plugs with both Gas and E85. The car is a little sluggish until cylinder temps warm a little. But not a big deal to me (and a lot of that is due to running E85).

Attached are pictures of a BPR7ES & BR7ES. Easy to identify the difference. The non-projector plug should help to slightly ward off knock.

I have not had trouble using the "P" plugs and have not had trouble with 7's either. Matter of fact I even put 6's in the last go around, knowing I was planning on running less boost and b/c it is a DD and it has been cold out so.......

With that said I trust that 8's are fine as I have been in Josh's car a few times and it doesn't seem to have trouble with starts or the like.

I used to run 9's in my race car with Ethanol and found they would foul out too easily. That car was mechanical injection though so pretty rich.

So I guess really it is matter of preference. I have ran up to 35 psi with br7es so I suppose all plugs from 7's to 9's would be safe and if the 8's or 9's work fine they are safer.
