real 951 trans cooler

Tony,
Here is a pic of what we did with our trans cooler. This is an old photo, and the trans is now new, and the axles are now the LR units. The elec pump is located in the passenger side rear wheel well and comes on via a thermostat. This is a 968 LSD six speed.

Ok so I'm fairly certain the OP and most of the others have a little more experience and knowledge with this stuff than me... so my question isn't intended to "question" the OP but more for my own knowledge and curiosity.
Why did you mount the cooler horizontally and have fans to pull the air down? Why not mount it vertically in front of the rear diffuser and let natural air flow through it? Doesn't air naturally flow between the diffuser and bumper from under the car?
I love home-built projects like this. Very cool

Tony do you also use the original oil pump in the transmission? Just wondering if adding a higher capacity pump after the original one could cause it to run dry, or will it pull oil trough the original pump? Have considered doing something similar for a while, but living i a colder part of the world I've convinced myself that it's unnecessary.

What temps do you set for the oil trans pump to come on at, or do you guys just run it on permanently?

I drain from the oil drain, through a filter, to the pump, to the oil cooler (which is electrically fan cooled), then back to the back of the tail housing as a return.
I run the pump after the trans is full of oil, then add oil based on what the cooling system sucks up to get it back to the proper fill level.
