That system controls the flow of the fuel vapors into the charcoal canister...#12 is the regulator, and #8 is the diaphram.

I wouldnt delete that, it doesnt reduce power, it doesnt weigh much, and it keeps that nasty fuel smell out of the car.

LOL@ 'WTF is this' !

I sealed the tube off the throttle body (soldered the brass fitting), and the connection to the 11 line fron the intake hose. I also sealed the 5 line that was going to the vacuum valve. The fuel tank then vents through the carbon cannister. My origina; problem was the fuel tank pressurizing during a race, which is why I remooved mine.

I was concerend with the mod that the fuel tank may not vent enough through the carbon cannister, So far its not been a problem. If it does, I'll open the line at 5 to let it vent more.

7 is a temperature control valve that opens once the engines warmed up.

You can disconnect it, though you must leave the thermovalve installed or use a plug in the coolant pipe. You can remove everything (all the valves), cap the throttle body, and be done.

Good information, did you have problems with any vapors? ...

thats all i needed to know. Thanks man. when you cut the vapor line you need too put a check valve in in so it dosent let water into the tank.

Yes that is correct. you can remove the line all the way back to the tank and install the check valve back there.

Just FYI, California now tests the EVAP system as part of annual smog. My tester spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get access to test its functionality, but finally gave up and exempted me. If it was not installed, I would have failed. To the extent other states eventually move to CA standards, beware....

I run no evap canister or vacuum can even but do run the vac hoses from the TB #10 to the thermovalve #7 on my racecar. Thanks to the good Doc I will remove 2 more ounces from my car and cap it at the TB instead. I deleted the charcoal can and run a breather filter in the wheel well where the canister was. I could delete it all the way back to the tank right now as the car is in pieces.... hmmmmm. 2 more ounces.

In a race car are any vacuum hoses necessary? Brake booster maybe?

Thanks to this thread for the inspirational thought

yeah i did that to mine i took the whole thing off besides 7 which bolts up to the head. All you need to do is put a little air filter where the fuel tank is and its a wrap
