Default Need replacment 951 Gearbox oil cooler pipe (uk)

Hi, had my gearbox rebuilt by Competition Transmition Services Ltd (Gearbox man)...No I dont reccomend them! Amongst other issues it looks like they have holed my oil cooler pipe. Anyone got one for sale or know of an aftermarket replacment?

We use a Mocal oil cooler it comes with two small cooling fans. Cut the ends off the factory cooler tig weld AN fittings to them mount cooler & plubm lines.

I've got one, though shipping to the UK might be expensive for the size of box it is. Doesn't weigh much though.

Hi, thanks for the replies. SSI - I did some research on the Mocal oil cooler, sounds promising and would look alot nicer than the Porsche part. Can you tell me if the one you use is 115 or 230mm matrix and how many rows is it? What make of pipes do you use and what fitting are the unions?

Are you sure the o ring isn't just worn out? I have never seen an end worn out.

The whole pipe wobbles in the lower hole and the top one is tight both with new orings. The slot where the retainer goes is mostly worn aswell as the retainer itself. You can see the wear right away when you look at it. I didnt think it was possible myself but i guess from years of being on there rubbing around it is.

OE coolers are listed at over $800 last I checked. Go aftermarket like the mocal and make some bushings to replicate the OE ends.

I'm going to call up my local fabricator and see if he can make me some fittings that are threaded so i can use a mocal or something similar.

I made some on a lathe at school in about 30 minutes. Just measure the dimensions of the trans ports.

I was going to just give the guy my old pipe and tell him to use the good end for a reference. Do you have a pic of how yours is mounted?

Use the 235 Matrix HD 19 row 8AN. Mount to trans. cross support. Fittings 2 - 8AN weld-on fitting bungs, 1 - 180 degree 8AN hose end (tail of trans). 3 - 90 degree hose ends. 2 - 4" electric fans. Stainless steel 8AN braided hose. Setrab is an other brad you can use they are better built and more money than a Mocal.

We found on the track car the factory oil cooler was not cooling good enough witch would make the case exspand the pinion bearing race would spin in the case this would let the pinion move around then thing start to come apart. If you ever pull your gear pack off and the pinion bearing race falls out into case it over heated do to high gear oil temps.
