Car lift installed!!!, first look under the car = outch
Well, I got my car lift installed today, and for the first time, i see what's under the car.
at my big surprise, there is some serious leaks, i knew it, but not as much like that
by the look of the pictures, it seems that the ps or ps lines are leaking, steering rack and transmission, what you guys think?
did the compression test yesterday, cold startup, car has been sitting for a long time
result: 140,140,135,140

I have PS systems seals inbound to fix this on my 951, looks the same....

a good solution to that PS problem is a manual rack. Mine never leaked.

Welcome to the club of leaks! I have slight oil but mostly PS leak but not quite that bad.
Do you get any smoke from under the hood? Seems like a lot is making it onto the exhaust and I'm curious what color smoke PS fluid makes?

Wow, thats alot of oil everywhere. I'd be concerned with the oil trace thats running down your exhaust. Oil is flamable.

Look at the connections to the PS reservoir. That location gets a lot of heat and the rubber turns hard as stone and leaks. It also looks like the PS leaks have swelled your sway bar bushing. Looks like the front seal is leaking but it could be any seal under the timing belt cover. The trany looks like it is leaking were the axles go into the trany. Once you get the axles out, they are easy to replace.
That lift looks just like mine, looks like the model with the cables on the floor. What up with all the heavy power feeds on the side wall?

WOW thx for all the quick answers guys, and yes im really happy of the lift, i've never done mechanic before and i think the lift will really help me to start mechanic jobs,
when i was running back the car in september, there was no smoke from the exhaust and no smoke in the motor, im pretty sure, ive check the valves and they are super
i have new front engine seals that are ready to install, so its sure i will do it,
i will change probably all the powersteering hoses, but how can you know if the leaks are comin from the powersteering pump itselft or the hoses, or the steering rack , im confused ?????
the BIG QUESTION, would you guys drop the motor? i would say yes since i want to do the timing belt,water pump and all the leaks comin from everywhere.....
also, by the look of the ps pump, i think it was changed before... your thought?
ohh and yes the ps reservoir, right under where the lines are, they are lot lot and lot of oil
i have so much questions, dont know where to start the work on my car

Step 1 degrease.
Step 2 drive and look for the leak source(s).
Step 3 fix leaks
Step 4 repeat steps 1 through 3
Nice lift! I wish I could justify getting one.

agreed - I'd say clean it up and run it a bit, then see what you've got...could jsut be something that leaked before but wasn't really cleaned up
those compression numbers look great though - 3 cylinders are identical and the 4th is within 10%, that's definitely what you want to see.

Congrats on the lift! Every time you use it, you'll say to yourself, "what a good investment!"
FWIW, I pick up my 944 by extending the front arms and going all the way into the inner frame rails. This will prevent any damage to the front fender due to that inner jack point deflecting (which many do...)
