Default Quick release for bumper

I'm thinking about finding a way to mod my bumper to easily remove it, does anyone have any ideas or experience with this you would like to share?

It doesn't have to be super pretty, just functional.

I have noticed several race cars have gone to that, and intend to do it with mine. Most have ditched the 3 bolts that hold the nose to the fender and added small brackets for two dzus fastners on each side. The problem for me is I have brake ducts in the foglights. I'll probably go back to the original ducts that are supported off the tub and just run brake hoses off them. That way the nose detaches cleanly.

I have brake ducts in those holes too, I plan on using some kind of quick release clamp.

Can you show me a picture or illustration of how they did it?

Here are couple pics showing a fiberglass bumper attachment, but a stock bumper would attach the same with some trimming.

I have a similar setup but using only two dzus fasteners on each side. Two more are used in the front.

On my laptop at home, will try to post some up tonight. Car will be going to paint as soon as the rear flares are attached.

Here you go:

Maybe this is easier to do but what about a full front tilt fron end so it could be worked on so much easier. It would also be much lighter as well. Has anyone ever done this? I think I've seen one once. I think that's the way to go.

Joe, the only time I've seen that is on the TTV8 tube frame car. I think most of these guys are interested in a removable bumper for loading on trailers and replacement when racing. Atleast, that's why I did it (identical to the above setups).

If I had a tube frame front end and a LOT of time to spend I might consider it!

Clearly cost, cost and cost. Also, have you ever thought if you needed to remove the entire front end as one piece? You couldn't do it alone, first off. And second, if you're in a garage with only so much space, it takes up nearly half the car, where will you put it?

FWIW he was talking about a front tilt type setup.

I understand that. But even a front tilt setup will need to be removed sometimes.
