Default Wheel bearing grease cap removal help

I'm having trouble removing the wheel bearing grease cap on the front wheels. Clarks garage says to tap around the back of them with a hammer and chisel but they aren't budging. Does anyone have some tips or advice for removing these? Thanks!

They are press fit into the hub. There is a lip that runs around the base of it. You can sometimes pry on this with a screw driver. Rotate it 90 degrees and do it again. It will eventually come off.

I have used a big pair of adjustable pliers to pry it off but find the best way is hammer and chissle. Just keep working around the outer edge a tap at a time. When I install I apply a little greese to the cap to help get off the next time

Find the little groove in the hub, pop the cap there and then work your way around it with a screwdriver and hammer, just don't gouge it.

If you keep trying and start feling like its never going to come off, thats pretty much normal.

What DanR said. Get a big pair of these....

Get a bigger hammer, or a bigger person to hit it for you....

I removed both of mine with a 30 minute track session.

Ha! Part of my spring maintenance is to pull mine off and repack the bearings with some hi-temp synthetic grease. Those suckers really get hot over a session.
