Big red brake upgrade without the red - Interested?

what is the thickness of the bar stock? thats a crude way to do it, as the thickness is not as controlable. you are at the mercy of a 3/8" piece, and thats not quite far enough. you run in to serious pad placement with this way.

If you need only adapters, they are basically a block of aluminium/iron with holes drilled to them. I suppose most of us can even fabricate them ourselves, so the cost is few $/€ per side. Also longer bolts can be found very easily locally.I bought longer (high grade)bolts for 4€.
Here's picture of spacers which can be found from the URL Paul sent.
I suppose no rocket science with these
I suppose these are the spacers Mark use

The problem with the specs, is that you cant read between the lines. the area of the GTS (big red, big black) is what it is. however its not the pad area that means a whole lot. If it did, ferrari and Stoptech ST40s. (the most noteworthy comparable racing brakes) would have used these fat pads. In actuality, the GT3 and other major race car designs, use a thinner pad on a greater radius.
Hence, the reason for this mod. same braking performance, a little less pad on the inner radius, but that doesnt matter much, and all for huge brake upgrade, for little money. longer bolts, 911T rotors, and spacers is all you really need. (and a little bit of elbow grease. )

Nice one Pete. The only thing I'd add here is weight (unsprung) of the extra rotors, although the later monoblock calipers are probably as light or lighter than say the BRs? The key stat is also the the attachment line:
attachment...A 94mm ....R 130mm.....R 130mm..R 142mm...R 142mm
which shows why it's probably too hard to put the last two on later model 951s. I'd love a set of the GT3/2s but they won't fit. Alternatively you can opt for the race version of Brembos or similar PFC, StopTech, Alcon etc but they are very expensive and true overkill for 99% of our cars.

Yeah I've come around to your thinking Mark but before this particular thread. I in fact would like to go up to larger rotors and a race caliper, but finances preclude that from happening anytime soon.

All measurement have been done with good old metric system to be more accurate than " stuff you use over there.

Ok guys, got confirmation that we can make them for 5+ guys. I think we are there now.
let me know by private email if you want spacers and longer GTS bolts, or the complete kit.
Here are the costs:
Option 1:
322mm rotors (porsche oem 965T), pagid orange or black pads, CnC spacers, GTS longer bolts $725
Option 2: (less pads)
Rotors
spacers
bolts
$500
Option 3: (Just the stuff needed to move the calipers out)
Spacers
Bolts $110
Let me know and we can get them on order.
cost includes shipping.

I think they are more because they are GTS or something like that. Ill check.
The 965 are cast hole rotors as pictured before on this thread.
I guess the only rotors that will work are GTS 928 and 965T rotors.

they do, but they work better. flat ones crack too, but not as bad. Im thinking this mod and the extra mass could help, but i have a heavy season of racing and the rotors last the entire season.
