Default Has anyone maxxed out a BONE STOCK engine?

Just out of curiosity has anyone maxxed out a bone stock engine? (not including manifold/turbo/intercooler). I know lots of guys pushing the M5x/S5x variants in the BMW world to the max but I don't think we've seen anyone max out the 2.5 or the 3L yet. Have we?

well of the top of my head i will list what i find impressive in terms of almost stock builds
Markus's 3.0 in the orange car briefly 500 or so whp no fancy engine internals no E85 no port job ? not sure .
Mikes turbo S2 400 hp full standard engine and S2 exhuast but blew a head gasket but hang together a year or so .

Sid's motors e 85 is kind of cheating . but
Sid has no big valves no aftermarket engine internals not even custom chips or expensive AFC
well he is just moving to custom chips now .
but no fancy fuel system stuff
he has 400+whp stock parts 2.5's
he has a couple of cars that owe him less than 4k car included .

Yeah, stuff along Markus/Sid's car was what I was referring to, stock internals/headwork.

I hope to be able to let you know what real max will be this year

I will be running a 70 plus Lb per min turbo with a ported head, intake mods, TB, na cam a few other bolt on items. Knowing I can run over 30 psi with less items it should do pretty well.

Also I think Bruce should really be mentioned here since he still was using a stck longblock and made more HP than has been posted

thanks Sid.

Yep Stock everything in the block and head. Something like 420 @ wheels on E-85. Not that that's any different than just throwing some C-16 in there. Just tons cheaper.

I've been welding on the car for 2days now. That hooker does NOT like to be welded on. Almost thinking the ridiculous money to acid dip it would have been worth it.

Trudging through. Broke out the MIG for this.

Got one of those. Broke out the Sand blaster yesterday. Made a huge mess that I spent 2 hours cleaning up afterward. Most the Seam welding I was going to do is now done though. SOoooooooo much more to go. I'm far behind. I STILL haven't gotten the Chromoly.

I welded every seam in front of the firewall. Cage will take care of the rest. maybe a seem or two in other places.
First used sand. Then Soda. Neither one were that quick. Ended up using Wire wheels and such. Sound deadening still caught fire about 15 times. (opposite sides and things)
Just couldnt work hard enough to get the metal completely clean in front of and behind and in-between. So I just stayed prepared for fire. - Car is just a shell anyway. not even 1 wire left. WHICH by the way weighed in another 20lbs. Might put back 5.

I'm going to post this on my project Thread. Sorry for the hijack!
