Have you consulted with Milledge? I believe he knows more than most. The 944 Turbo that he and Roy Chong created is quite fast.

In my past experience we would have the deck plate installed while filling. I am not sue how much cylinder distortion occurs with the 2.5 & 3.0 blocks. I would hate to see the improper clearance considering the tight piston clearance already needed

I guess you could fill to required level. then quickly bolt on the head for drying.

I measured a MID type block before and after filling with Devcon - no change. It is a very stable product.
