WTB Lower Balance Shaft
Anyone have a lower balance shaft for sale. Mine is squeeking as I rev (like if the car was supercharged) and a messy leak on my garage.
Thanks

When the engine was rebuilt (just a preventive rebuild) the bearings, rollers, everything was put in new and the lower balanceshaft did not turn freely by hand like the upper one. Belt adjustment was verified with the tension tool a lot f times, we tried loosing the belts a little, put the front cover bearing and seals again and nothing.
Still it turned by hand with a noticeable resistance.

IMHO you should loosen the cover and retorque it in the correct sequence.
I remember Nize wrote in his 2.8l thread that his shafts didn't turn. It was fixed by retorqueing the covers in the correct order.

Actually a timely post. I'm rebuilding a motor right now from piles of parts, and have no idea which ones are the right covers, or if I even HAVE the matching set of balance shaft covers. Is there any way to still run them? I know how the things were made and that the 'cracking' of the covers from the case results in slight variations in mating surfaces.
I could theoretically delete them as it is a race motor. But if I wanted to run them, can the cover mating surfaces be trued?
