Default How long to get fuel?

Alright, trying to start the engine now.

I replace the fuel pump with a bosch 044 and drained the whole fuel system during the last 6 months, how long should it take to fill the lines and rail back up? There is no fuel in the rail as of right now. I cranked for about 30 seconds with no luck. The pump sounds like it is running when I try to crank the car. I have to charge the battery again so I thought I would ask this while I am waiting

From my experience - prob around 5 seconds give or take. Ive had mine completely drained a few times lately

Do you have a fuel press guage installed? If someone starts cranking my car I can watch it come up...whats yours doing when cranking?

I definitely cranked for a good 30 seconds and still have no fuel in the rail.

I'll go look the system over

Wondering about this: If I were to somehow have the leads on the fuel pump swtiched around.. could that run the fuel pump backwards? I know some devices work like this and some dont.

I had to sp[lice on new leads for the 044 pump and I suppose it's possibly that I got them backwards.

That could be it yes. Test it with a multimeter, I think the posts on the 044 are labeled. The larger post is 12 volts.

That was the cause. I had them switched on the pigtail.

I have noticed you are quite knowledgeable when it comes to electircal stuff, I could have used you help in the last 6 months..

Remove the DME relay from the fuse box and jump terminals 30 and 87B
That will manually turn on the fuel pump. You'll hear the fuel going out of the regulator when you have fuel up there.
Good luck

Already solved the problem, terminals were reversed. Thanks though!

Well I was going to wait until I had a video to post with it but ....

THE CAR RUNS AND IT SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL. Started right up, flawlessly.

Side exit exhaust sounds MEAN.

an efi system on a car is pretty much instant when the pump fires, the system fills. IF the pump fires.. a bosch044 is noisy. you should hear it.
