Well, so much for the $350 new bearing and balance job. Looks like it will be needing a couple of new parts that will add to the $$$.

Any idea of the cause of the failure. Heat fatigue? I have a Lindsey Super 65 that I had to have the center section rebuilt because of a leaky seal setup after only 1k miles.

Not really. I was running it hard at the time but the stock unit got the same treatment. It appears a blade failed and ground the tips off of the rest of them. I was thinking something came out of the head but the inside of the blades are in good order. I don't in any way think this is a Lindsey issue, just had a part failure.

It could have been anything that got sucked in there. Maybe shake the muffler out and see if you can find it for interest!

I think I will do that, it is just hanging there so it will be easy to do. If I find anything, I post up some pictures.

May want to pull the headers off the car and take a look at the ceramic liners in the exhaust ports of the cylinder head.

Good point. The headers were pulled to be coated , all looked good but I will get a bore scope and look at it in more detail tomorrow.

Looks just like mine. I found a piece of slag in the cross over pipe, ended up swapping the head and turbo. You definitely need to look in the crossover, headers and head to make sure you don't do the same to the next turbo.
