Yes, a bit smaller than what we normally see, but it works great on the 2.5L motor.

Oh and his black mirrors are due to the mirror bras he's got on 'em.
BTW, what was the relative cost for his turbo, and what did they have to customize to fit it?

I get the 3.X ltr guys. They have a bunch more grunt, down low; but on a 2.5, I prefer a compromise towards quick spool over dyno #'s.
If our cars didn't have rev limiters slightly higher than that of a paint mixer, then we could maybe get away with spooling massive turbo's and just working the gearbox a bit, but a +1 to what you just said. I'd like to get my 15psi before 3000rpm's if I possibly can.

sorry for the OT.

Yes. This car is not a track dedicated car. The balance shafts are there for more than vibration.

What size wheels and tires are you running. It's time for me to go larger in the rear.

I use 274/40/17 Azenis on the rear. Easy to get for a decent price. We go through tires on these cars. It's enough tire for such a light car. Our cars hide properly offset wheel/tire combinations very well. You can go larger, but this is my choice.

30R and 35R are not large frame turbos. Just the common thought here is that they are. At my day job I can't stand it when customers want anything smaller than a 30/35R total waste of money.

Sean's friend is an engineer for Tial. They're just finishing development on a turbo system for the 951, and so they made Sean a deal. Let's just say Sean got a killer deal on it.

I'm not sure what cost of the setup will be though. Sean might know.

I'm only talking about our specific application. I know other cars are much different, in terms of the turbos that they can use.

Sean may get one more Tial bolt up turbo kit. He may have available for sale soon.

George,

If that happens, let him know I'd be interested in a discussion.
Thanks,

That Tial 951 kit has been mooted for at least 3 years. Hope it sees the light of day.

It has, and one is on Sean's car. It's just a Garrett turbo setup. SFR has had these for years. TIAL's kit is real pretty, but you can't see it once installed. It's definately a nice bolt on (almost) kit, but we are not talking ground shaking new leader technology stuff here.

I hope there is no offense taken. Love to have choices for us crazy 951 folks, but don't think this is any better performing than what is currently available.

Sean, I still really like your setup.....but it's just a great turbo on a great car......available elsewhere without the TIAL logo........some folks have to have the designer stuff......Wool is wool, Garrett turbos are Garrett turbos.
