Default What is the biggest battery I can fit in my 951

I need a new battery very badly!! It barely had enough power to start the car in 30 degree weather. What is the biggest battery I can fit in a 951. It would be nice to have atleast 800 cold cranking amps if possible

You should be able to get plenty of CCA w/o a bigger battery. AFAIK the factory batteries were more than 800 CCA.

I think the 300V battery out of my Yukon Hybrid will fit in the hatch area.

Interstate lists a 875 CA, 700 CCA battery. Part number MTP-91. What weight oil are you running during the winter?

Default Diehard 1300cca

It was a while ago (5 to 6 yrs), however I remember putting in a sears battery that was 1300 cold cranking amps and the same size, but slightly longer. This was OK, as there's enough room.

My Diehard group 41 (the one they list as the one for 951s) has started my car in MUCH colder weather with 20W50 oil.... You probably just need a new battery period. It started it easily at around -10F.

may want to put some 15-40 shell rotella in there for the winter so you dont starve the engine for oil in the cold weather.

Yes! Good advice! That is the same battery I install in all of my customers Mercedes Diesels. Nothing is harder to start in the winter than an old diesel engine, and that battery is up to the task.

Our cars are low compression 4 cylinders; they aren't too hard to start. Sounds like you need a new battery and possibly cleaning of the contacts on the grounds and/or starter.

I have a small race battery in my car and it will crank fine even in cold weather (as long as I haven't left the alarm on for more than 2 weeks between starts).
