So.. Just to open up an old topic again;
I'm building my engine at the moment and going e85 as well..
What did you guys use to pump the e85 in? And at what fuel pressure?
Also, did you change the fuel lines from the back to the front completely of just the flexible pieces?
I'm building my own fuelrail from stainless steel and will get a surgetank on the place of the battery!

But i´m only aiming for around 400hp.
Corleone used a SX fuel pump with new electric wirings and separate relay and bigger fuel lines and he got 600rwhp

I want to use a 044 pump as well but i'm aiming at about 500 crankhp! So do i need 2 than? That's also the reason that i want to use a surgetank. The advantage than is that i can leave the normal pump in place to get the e85 to the front and when i really need it the 044 (or 044's maybe) can supply it to the fuel rail.
And while we're at it; i still have to buy injectors.. Any preferable size?

I'm using a big single Fuelab pump. It's loud but can handle my Bosch high impendance 2200 cc injectors at full duty cycle.
I was running 100% duty cycle on my 1200 cc injectors on E85 at 1.1 bar with my 3.1l 16v turbo. That might give a hint of how much injector is needed.

So i'll be needing the 1680's as well.. Damn.. Friend of mine just ordered 800's for his 500fwhp golf 3 vr6 turbo..
I'll get myself a Fuelab pump than (or 2 044's) and the big injectors! (as the 1200's are probably too small)
What did you do to the fuelfilter? Original or an aftermarket version as well?

The Filters from Fuelab are expensive, but its the machined body. You can buy the replaceable filters for much less. And you must choose the one that is compatible with ethanol.

Hmm.. Oke.. I'll have to do some digging, because the flow on the replaceble filters will be less i guess!
And than the next question; i'll be building my own fuelrail from stainless, anything i'll have to look out for?

You could just anodize aluminum if thats easier to machine. I have -10 rails that I will anodize to not conflict with the ethanol. Stainless, bare, is obviously fine. It may anode/cathode if you put an aluminum fitting into it that scratches through the aluminum. Just from the water, not specifically the ethanol.

For the moment yes, but if i have to upgrade the diameter that's no issue as well, there is still plenty to do so swapping out the fuel lines is easy.
Well, since i do not have easy access to an aluminium welder it will be stainless. I'll be trying to get all stainless fittings as well, so they will not be standard AN fittings!
