Went to the track today. Overcast, had been raining, track slippery as you can clearly see, but had some fun anyway. They gave us the option of lining up on the grid in pairs and dragging off down the straight to do 4 hot laps. The guy I'm against was there for the 1st time today and a pretty heavy car so he went well. The 4wd was helping him a lot. I had to back off a few times for fear of giving him a love tap. Had no turn in, slipping rears, and my pedal was soft very soon after starting the 1st session...but apart from that the car went great. lol
Tried some E85 (approx 25%) and we fattened up the afrs up top. Was running 1.3 - 1.4 bar. Having more power today wouldn't have been any help anyway. Thanks Sid for his assistance re the fueling.
The engine is totally stock 2.5L with the Vitesse stage 5 kit which was meant for my 3L. With the S2 cwp, it creates enough of a shortened final drive to be able to get away with the too big turbo, especially on the track.
Oh, sorry about the flappy thing getting in the way. It's off the handle of the camera. I can't believe how bad the resolution is once downloaded onto Youtube too??

nice vid patrick. What sort of spool up do you get with the S5 on the stock motor? What do you think your estimated power level was at that level? How was it pulling outta the corners?

Thanks John. It was heaps of fun even though not ideal setup and track conditions.
The spool up is ok due to the final drive being a lot shorter. On a stock tranny it just wouldn't work. John J thought it would be awful (too laggy) but he would be pleasantly surprised. Having said that, your stage 3 will be much better in general terms. I really don't know what power level it's at. I guess maybe hitting 350hp at 18psi. Maybe a bit less. This setup is just an interim one so not really ideal, but nice to have the backup and drive the car for an extended amount of time.

nice one Pat you had him scared a couple of times him double dipping on the brakes .
at the start were you warming up the tires or your neck ??
so it looks like you match him on power just not on torque .
sorry to be a bit harsh but I'm also assuming your on Better rubber than him since your genrally on Proxies and the 911 is usely on potenzas evident when you get tire temp and confidence later

Not a whole lot lighter than stock Thom. Top of the rear seats out, rear carpet out, smaller battery, and race seats (not heavy stock ones) and the stock headlights out. Say 1350kgs / 2970lbs?

He had Pirelli Corsa and they felt about as sticky as mine to the touch. I just stood still off the line though. He said he had about 500hp for what it's worth. He had me for outright speed. I just got him in the end with a better corner speed. It was hard work out there though and I had to pull back a few times for fear of hitting him. Still, it was a good effort of his to be there for the first day. That was our 3rd session of the day.

Yeah, that was just a one off start, but kinda cool. The right hand turn before going up and over the bridge is awful. There's no clean line at all. You just have to take your punishment and leave. I tried 2nd and 3rd gear, but 3rd is way too long as you can see on the last lap.
