Default Motec all the stuff i never realised i must have

After a string of emails to the very helpful Motec development engineer I find there are all these features that as they never occurred to me I never needed but now I know I just cant live with out them and I'm dreaming about them before i even get it running .

traction control multiplexer so i can set up launch control traction control gear indication boost per gear ground peed limiting .with just 1 input

and then correction tables by aux input allowing me to do such things as
fuel quality switch or detune according to gearbox temp or cyender head temp or driver jock strap moister read out
Knock retard/ boost cut

I'm able to resist the dash but I'll probably will go to the motec training seminars

I avoided Motec for years for this very reason of tragic addiction

they do have a lot of sweet stuff.

if you have time, at some time, ask if they have any race ABS, like the bosch motorsports abs unit.

using the motec as a boost controller and then, boost by gear / sort of a traction control, is my next motec tuning project. Then on to maybe a true FQS switch for E85 / race / pump / so never have to "find" a pumping station.

But I will never limit tuning to temps. that's a bandaid. just make things work cooler naturally. maybe just sme warning lights to tell me to pit and fix the problem.

Gear based boost control is a wonderfull thing! E85 gave me more power earlier in the boost curve so I had to turn the FB speed up some in 1st and 2nd so it didn't gain boost as fast in those gears allowing me some traction.

Motec....mmmmm dangerous!!

Gear based boost control is also on my list. Anyone done it care to share what I need to add to my M400 to make it work?

Wheel speed sensor. The rest is tuning.

Why not get an ethanol sensor.... Forget the switch part of it since thats inaccurate anyway unless you drain the tank between different fuels.

The Motec won't work off the factory speedometer sender signal?

He would need a front sensor probably, so the the motec knows how fast the rear tires are spinning relatve to the front ones.

Oh for launch control yes. Not needed for gear based boost control.

yeh gear selectionis just figured as driven wheel v engine speed and traction is driven v undriven or ground speed . so it can be done with 1 front 1 rear input but there is also a muliplexer that combines the signals into single digital signal the ecu can decipher all the wheel speeds from on input you can then use the other inputs for clever things like exhaust manifold map reading .

Thingo you do have a problem you've got more Motec boxes than me and 950NE combined .

an ethanol sensor is interesting idea but how about when you put a lot of tolulene moon shine in
