Broken dipstick.. anyone got one lying around??

This is from the 9442 catalog and it looks like there were a few different ones out there. I would make sure your replacement matches up the one you have as much as possible. You could have a serious problem if you ended up getting a bad reading from using the wrong one.

na has shorter dipstick than turbo or S cars..

IIRC N/A has one dipstick, 86 turbo has another, 87+ turbo has yet another dipstick. I don't even know about the S, but why would we stop at only 3 different dipsticks?
The turbo differs from the N/A both in length, and in the shape of the handle (yellow plastic on the turbo, black metal on the N/A), the turbo ones differ in length only.
I broke the plastic handle off mine one day, now I can't leave it in there or it works its way down into the engine, so I use a N/A dipstick to plug the hole, and pliers and my old turbo dipstick to check the level, its great fun.
