Default Brake pad wear sensor wiring

I searched and didn't find anything. All of the harnesses that go between the main wiring harness and the brake pad wear sensors are missing the protective sheathing - it has become dry and cracked off. Are new harnesses available? I've thought about taking them off and wrapping them, but tape would look like crap and I don't think I can pull them apart enough to use heat shrink. The PO tried to cover them with split loom, but the wires were poking out of them, so I removed them.

I may try to pull the harnesses off and try some of that spiral loom. That's about the only other thing that comes to mind

The wear sensors or the harness (what the sensors plug into)? My wear sensors are new, but the harness is in bad shape.

Cant say I don't search. Anyways, Curt did you ever figure out how to fix the harness going to each wheel?

My wiring harnesses going to the rear wheels are trashed. I've googled the **** out this problem. There is only two wires going to the brake pad sensor, but they join up with what looks like 6 or seven wires. The insulation on this harness is corroded broken and in overall bad shape.

I tried to follow this harness further "upstream" but they disappear behind the gas tank and tranny area. I wouldn't mind having the last 944 with working brake pad sensors.

Car is a 1987 W/O ABS

I just did a quick search. I looks like Non-ABS is PN 94461210900 $82. each

ABS owners have the honor of $129. each for 94412111200.

All of this assumes I'm reading PET correctly....

I sure did! When I rebuilt the main harness, I pulled out all the wiring for the brake pad wear sensor system while I had it apart and bypassed the circuit at the gauge cluster.

not sure anyone on this board needs an indicator light for brake pads.

light removal on the instrument panel was about 45 min.

yeah, i'm slow.

Alright, Give this an update. After searching around, I found the thread on how to disable the light at the cluster and now in the process of trashing the entire system all together.

It was just too big of a pain messing around trying to repair the harness. so I just cut the wires were they come out of the grommet besides the tranny. I'm not trying to gut the cabin and the taped harness just to remove 8 wires.

"not sure anyone on this board needs an indicator light for brake pads. "

Yea haha, its a bit asinine, the wheels are off this car more than I would prefer.

I've rebuilt a few main wiring harnesses and every one of them needed to have the radiator cooling fan wires replaced. I remove the brake pad wear sensor wiring when I rebuild the harness.

Cheater! I've got one bad one that's the wiring that goes to the ABS sensor at the right rear, can't/don't want to bypass that one.
