From Stock to 300hp. Requirements.
I was wondering how many mods are required to hit a reliable 300hp from a stock engine. The stock engine would be an 86 assuming a K26/6 turbo.
The person with the least amount of mods wins!

If looking for 300whp, i would say the closest you will get is 280-290whp on a K26/6. For 300bhp, its not to hard. My car made 260whp which comes out to around 300bhp figuring a 15% drivetrain loss at 14psi..
K26/6 turbo
38mm Tial wastegate (a must to hold as much boost as possible to redline)
3'' exhaust, no cat
72# injectors (you can run much smaller, and probably even get away with stock injectors)
Vitesse MAF (you can run the stock AFM and chips mapped for ~15psi)
LR Stage 1 head (probably not a huge difference in output with this)
Basically it can be done with a 3'' exhaust, better wastegate and better tune for atleast 15psi.

I was looking at the lindsey package when I created this thread.
You don't need a dual port wastegate or a mbc to run 300hp.
I was just curious about the absolute bare requirements to achieve 300.

You, sir, need to do a HELL of a lot of homework!
Don't fugg this up, like so many do. These cars have FEW simple solutions that are also cheap.
There are a few expensive solutions that are bolt on simple.
I've yet to see ANYTHING that is simple and cheap, that also ACTUALLY works properly.
Atleast not in the area of performance.

N2O. One mod - I win.
Though if N2O isn't for you then, MAX AFM chip, 3Bar FPR and K27/6. That would be about the least expensive & simplest way for 300rwhp.

May I but in here and ask a newbie question? I just took posession of a '86 951. Completely stock with 48k original miles on it. It has the "other silver paint" Can't remember the true name. It's a blue/silver. Black leather interior. But Like I said, it is bone stock. My Question: Can someone decifer the lingo for me?
MAX AFM chip, 3Bar FPR and K27/6
Waht does this mean? I know the K27/6 is the larger Turbo on the intake side right? But the rest, I don't understand.
