Default Rear quarter panel removal, how to?

Search turned up very little, only to cut the spot welds. Does anyone have pics or a description as to where all the welds are? Is there any information out there that would enable someone to DIY? Or is this not a DIY type of project for someone with no body repair experience? I do have a welding pro at my disposal for reinstall of a donor panel (speaking of which -- does anyone in WNY have a right rear quarter on a parts car they don't need?)

TIA

Go ahead and give it a shot! I think the welding will be the hardest part, and having a welding pro takes care of that issue. I haven't done this but have looked into replacing a rear quarter on mine. Like you said, it looks like you just drill out the spot welds, clean things up, line up the new panel, weld it on, clean up the welds and paint.

If you do it, please post pics and tips!!

I spun and another solid moving object intersected my trajectory.

I am taking it to a body shop later this week to see if they can bang it out or if it definitely needs replacing. The door is easy, but that quarter panel looks to be a PITA.

Pennywise, what was the cost of that replacement job?

My car is in the shop, they seem to think they can bang out the damage below. I however think otherwise.

Thanks man. The tail light is cracked, rear FG bumper chewed up on the end, rear valence mounting tabs tore out, RR wheel appears to be bent, all four brand new tires flat spotted. Right side door is toast. Rear suspension appears to be fine, will check alignment. All cosmetic stuff that can be fixed.

Looks just like Keith's picture above, only my quarter panel is a little more banged up. Keith, if you get that fixed please let me know how it goes.

I have pics, and video. Maybe later...

All in all, about $10 000 if I convert it back to USD... I think the new door was about $5000 alone. Insurance is paying, my cost $500. Luckily, the cars have a high value here which warrants repairs of this nature.. Fetch it on the weekend.

Looking at your pic, they might be able to get to the inside from the cubbies.

good luck...
