I installed the turbo, got her back together.. turned the key, she fired up and then cut out. I tired starting the engine twice with the exact result. Should my car fire right up?

I ripped her apart again... all parts are laying in my lawn now.

Make sure you plugged the AFM connector back in.

Took it apart, back together 3 times. I turn it over, starts up like a champ and almost instantly cuts out.

I'll pay $100 an hour if anyone can help out for an afternoon

my brother herd a "POP!" sound under my fuel injectors when I turned it over. The fuel injector closest to the windshield is in deep and the others are not. Should I be able to see the yellow ring on the injectors? I belive (praying on my hands and knees) that this is my problem.

All injectors should sit in the manifold the same. If you can see more of one than the others then there is something wrong. I highly doubt that would cause the car to cut out tho.

okay, a few things, what does you oli pressure say when you turn it over?
Do the needles move on the guages?
Are you getting spark at the plug wire ends?

make DAMNED SURE that there is no fuel leaking.
Are you getting fuel pressure?
As was asked, is the AFM plugged in?

IF it cranks, has oil pressure, but still won't start, I'd break it down to three spots.
Spark
Fuel
Ref sensors

Oil pressure hits 5
AFM is plugged in
No fuel leaking anywhere

she turns over, starts right up... then 1 second later the engine cuts out.

ehall, I can see the yellow rings on each fuel injector, is this not deep enough?

it doesn't sound like it's an injector problem.
I'm trying to think about why it dies after a second. I'll get beck to you.
You might try unplugging the TPS and starting the car. See if it stays running or does the same thing.

I am going to reallign the intake, injectors, and throttle body tomorrow. I will first try the TPS idea.

Removing and installing the turbo is not really bad, but just like what everone said, there is so much you can do while you are in there.

Take you're time, things will go smoothly. It took me 5 days for a complete turbo swap, but i had almost all the nuts, bolts and shields re-plated, AOS seals, cleaning cleaning and even more cleaning. There is so much crap stuck between the cylinder head and the upper balance shaft housing (in my case), it was stupid, but well worth it.

Best tip, is to index the turbo (new or rebuilt) to as close as possible as the old turbo, it will save you a hassle.
