Didn't mean to scruffle any ones undies. I am just saying that cars these days are getting more and more power, along with more and more weight. But the thing is, a 20 year old car that "has a chip" even though the wastegate is probably shot and it most likely isn't putting over 200 horse power the the rear wheels, will have a hard time with a 3400 lb car that has 250+ horse power (the 3.5 SL has 270 hp and 270 ft/lbs). Its obvious where air dynamics and a strong/high power band kick in though when the 951 pulls away.
I think it is silly that a 951 would even bother playing with a Altima though...

The new 3.5 Altima is 270 hp and 258 lb ft and the manual can still only click off a low 15, high 14 second quarter mile and is in the neighborhood of 6+ second 0-60. "Lightly modded" (intake, exhaust, removal of excess weight items like spare tire, floormats, etc, sticky tires) are still in the mid 14 second range with a competent driver. 13 second Altimas aren't "lightly modded" - headers, chipped, suspension mods, gutted, suspension modifications and typically a little squirt of the giggle gas don't fall into the lightly modded category. A FWD, 3400# 68/32 weight distribution is not exactly sports car inspiration - and that's the 2008 spec; previous years were heavier and had less power.
I'm not saying that the 951 is a quarter-mile screamer, but the claims that an Altima is fast is laughable. Come on down to a T&T at VMP and you too can watch in amazement at the 15 second timeslips most Altima owners actually achieve at the track. They're equally amusing at autocross events as well.

He has to stop abusing his grandmothers car like that
That 951 could be stock for all anyone knows, Im sure a stock maintained 951 could beat a heavy, stock 250hp altima the way it did, especially if the altima is an auto. If the 951 was modded or the race involved some turns the race would've been more interesting.
