Default In need of Cometic HG for 3L built - Help!

Hi guys and girls,

I am in need of a Cometic HG part #1706SP2060 (oversized) to complete engine overhaul. Anybody got one or know of someone that can spare one? I need this asap because I have to get the car running for emmision in 2 weeks and my mechanic will be out of town so I trying to give him enough time.

Any suggestion and/or experience is appreciated. I'll do some searches also...

Btw, Tim, I called you earlier also for your help also. Can't wait for the trick downpipe you are sending to me.

Thanks in advance.

Go to www.cometic.com and order it directly. They can overnight the part. Make sure that your block and head are SMOOTH.....

thanks George. My shop did call but it'll take Cometic 3-4 days to make then to ship which is too long..

What do you think about reusing one that was just test fit...torqued down but never start the engine up?

They are reusable - even if the engine has been run for a while!

Why was it tested to fit? 3mm gaskets are used to either lower the comprssion of stock pistons, or allow better angle on the rods. Whatever the reason, the Cometic gaskets are stainless.

Money back guarantee if not satisfied!*

*as long as you can convince who ever sold you the gasket that it wasn’t their fault!

Chris and George, thanks for your input. I think I'll reuse the gasket per Chris's recommendation. I feel much better now. Thank you all.
