I'm really interested to know what things felt/sounded like when that broke, and what specifically clued you into knowing that the fork is what had broken.

Or did you just feel a funky clutch and then took apart the clutch to investigate?

Track customer of mine. He said the pedal wouldn't come back all the way and it just got worse to the point where the car wouldn't shift at all. It was during a test and tune session at the PCA club race in Hastings on Friday. I pulled the starter and the slave and didn't see anything unusual (i could see the one good fork end through the inspection hole, but not the other, so I pulled the clutch fork pin from the bellhousing, then i could grab the end of the clutch fork and twist it (it shouldn't twist with 2 good arms). Ripped it apart Friday night, had new parts next day'd in and had them by noon on saturday. We made the first sprint race at 3 that day. Then he blew up the engine the race after that (wrist pin retaining clip came out and took out the #2 cylinder. That i couldn't fix at the track, lol. Motor (and the clutch was replaced, although they didn't replace the fork or guide tube) was built by another shop a few years ago, and had quite a few races on it. It was an expensive weekend, lol.

Oh and we never did find the end of that fork, lol. Must have exited the bellhousing on the track somewhere.

Not sure what breaking one of these things in comprises of. The thing is a nightmare in traffic. Puts a lot of stress on components apart from my headache! Horrible for reversing into tight spaces too. Great on the track though this car will be more of the daily driver in time and so I want something that is more liveable with in town.
I have an old KEPii. By that I mean it's brand new but would have been made maybe 2 years ago. We were thinking of trying that with say a 930 cup clutch?
I need something that is going to hold the tq that this car will have but isn't so aggressive on the street. Any ideas, anybody. Sorry for thread hijack ST but thought you might shed some light too.

He is asking for a "shift fork". A shift fork goes in the transmission. What you all have pictured here is a clutch release fork.

Yea but lutjen is weird, he does probably need a clutch release fork but if it's a shift fork I also have it.

I don't mean hijack this thread but, any of you guys with a turbo CLUTCH release fork still have one you can send my way? And if it has a good pivot pin/shaft, even better. I'm in the middle of a clutch change on my turbo and found the replacement fork I bought is for a NA, there are groves in the arms from the TOB, and the pin is crap.

Shipping would be to 17065, PA.

Let me know if anyone can help me out.

Thanks
Tom

Thanks

I've got pretty much everything... probably would be best to send me pics/descriptions of everything you want so I can be sure it's all in the box.

Scootin159,

Check out post #13, I need both of those pieces. And is your pivot shaft still smooth, or are grooves from the needle bearings in the clutch fork?

And the fork is for a turbo?

Thanks
Tom

If scootin159 doesn't have it, does anybody else have one they can ship out tomorrow?

Thanks
Tom
