I've heard they're difficult to machine because the metal cuts into ropes. You could grind off the splines on one end of the bar in a pinch.

Default machined t bar

My neighbor (dirt tracker) found a buddy with a cnc shop that can do it, expect to be completed tomorrow around noon. Per Karl @ Racers Edge they have to be machined in a single cut to prevent whipping etc. If this guy screws it up I will assemble without and pull later. This is one of the good things about living near the "motor city".

Tonight - install front suspension. Expect delivery of M030 sways and camber plates plus I have the bolts for the Recaros so I could finish those too.

New rotors and pads to be delivered on Thurs. Three nights work and I can take for corner balance and alignment eh!

You can send the motons to me and I can install them on my car. I'll even cover shipping costs.

PM me for details.

Default purty shocks

They look too purty to give away. Turning the torsion bars was easy for one of our local machine shops. One good thing about living near the "motor city".

Old shock bolts were toast, one more thing to wait for. Photos of parts and progress.

Just a heads up. The hat of the rear shocks rubbed on the trailing arm (they should be mounted upside down) so I had to space the bottom mount out using washers. If you also have the tranny cooler loop, there isn't a lot of space. I went to a solid tranny mount to reduce movement of the cooler loop and potential interference.

Also, I bought 7" rear springs and should have gotten 6" (I may change in the future). My car is pretty low so now the height adjustment collar (which is now mounted on the top behind the frame) can be difficult to reach for corner balancing.

Default Mounting

I am using a set of stock bolts for the rear, just picked up from the ever helpful Gilson Motorsport in Royal Oak (his personal stash). Karl, Racers Edge indicated that this is the type of bolt Moton recommends for this install, no need for their special rear bolt. I will pick up some washers just in case. Mounted the reservoir for front as Thom suggested - great idea. Inverted in case of curb impact, just behind the opening.

I just used a longer bolt so I had room to space the hat out. 3 years and no issues. I used a tie-down eye as one of the spacers to kill 2 birds w/ one stone.

I mounted my front reservoirs in the brake cooling opening in the fender liner. It's a little work to reach in there an make an adjustment, but I don't adjust very often after initial settings are known for a track. Plus, I like the sleeper look.

The US rep for Moton (Lex Carson) said they should be mounted so that the hat is on the bottom and body at the top, opposite to how the fronts are mounted.

Default update

Took a day off from Motons, waiting for one front, sent overnight to Moton with minor problem. Took time to install some seats and play "hide the reservoir".

Nice, I like the stealth look.

I used to have my rears tied to the tranny cross member, but I got tired of crawling under the hot car to make adjustments so relocated them to low down on the cage main hoop.

It will take you a while, but remember that adjustments are reverse of logic. Clockwise = softer.
