head gasket retorque ?
Good day all,
I am a bit at a loss here... the Porsche workshop manual does not make any mention of the need to retorque the head gasket after it has gone through a first heat cycle, but some guys around here seem to say that it is an absolute must otherwise it will blow rapidly... This is with stock studs and stock or widefire head gasket...
Anyone has successful experience with no retorquing the gasket ??
Thx,
Michel

I've never retorqued a gasket on factory studs, my experience. Only Raceware recommends it. Headgaskets blow from poor tunes - most of the time.
We ran a widefire, on ARP studs, no retorque, for almost 4 years before a rod breaking took out the engine.

No retorque
Hello all,
as the originator of this thread, I must say that I did not retorque and after a few days at the track, there is no sign that there are problems with the head sealing..
Thank you,
Michel
