No he DIDN'T
I couldn't believe it when my dentist friend, pulled along side my car yesterday while I was in "soccer mom line" to pick up my son...he blips the throttle and look over to find him in a 928!!!!!!???????????!!!!!!!!! WTF?
Anyway, I go drive it around and then tell him how nice it is, etc etc.
1986 928S, beautiful silver paint, incredible interior (read showroom here), 5 spd, everything with the exception of the rear wiper works as it should, with only 38k original miles - that's with him driving it home from NY. Paid $12k, which I think is too high but it is what it is.
I'd driven a few of them way back when and I thought I remembered a bit more performance. Nice and torq'y though.
So today, I'm going to let him drive my black car.

Three Wheelin'
Funny story. I don't know 928s and I don't really want one but heck 12k seems a lot less ridiculous than what I've been seeing at the dealerships around here. Be sure to let us know how it goes.Bruce

I guess I could turn the boost down to 12! Nope, he can have the 17/18 it's sitting at but it needs to warm up and streets dry a bit more, otherwise, he'll get wheel spin in 3rd.
The engine could use a detail on his 928 but is still clean for the age.

$12k with 38kmiles, good paint and showroom interior? The S was 300hp as well right? I think he got a pretty good deal.
I don't bust too much on 928s. I'd love to have one someday. In addition to the 951 of course!
My dentist has a Boxster S daily driver.

well, maybe he did. I'll wander through the Excellence and see the last value report. He's going to put Cup 2 wheels on it and I'm about to call him, as there is a set with Yoko rubber in the member/for sale section.

Why not just let him be happy with what he bought and let life go on? Let him enjoy his new purchase, at least until that new-car bedazzlement fades.

exactly...which is why I didn't " you gotta come drive my car". He did his research on the 928's, he likes the style of the earlier ones better than the S4 cars and he found a really nice one. He's a dentist here in town, has a WWII collection of items - no telling what that's worth, a few years older than me, and a great guy. I'll get a photo of it after the wheels get on.
Yeah Sam, they looked great, they've got each other's phone number and email, I figure the paypal will go out today or Monday. I've been at baseball practice for two hours, time to paint the garage door and frame.

I am not posting on this thread, I know it is a trap to get me banned, Bret are you being sponsored by he 928 guys?
if you don't know what I am talking about check this out.
A thread is started on the OT forum, I responded to the thread, than Randy decides to put it on the 928 forum, the result? I get cussed at, threatened, humilliated and it's suddenly all my fault, just for trying to be nice with them

Now c'mon Lart, you know better than that. It's just your reputation - buy one 928 to part, sell the parts cheap and I'm sure your angel wings will be in the mail as fast as you ship parts from ebay.
Got the crossover, going to experiment a bit.

Wow. Those guys got pretty defensive in that 928 thread. I don't see why the get so upset over a little bashing. Sure they take pride in their cars but you must admit they are really goofy looking.
