Default TURBONETICS K26 T3-60 60-1 STAGE 3 8CM2 550HP ????

I found this turbo at a pretty reasonable price "GENUINE TURBONETICS K26 T3-60 60-1 STAGE 3 8CM2 550HP" The hot side is an 8 but the compressor says its a T3, is it a T03 or a T04? Can anyone advise me about its suitability for a 951?

SFR stage 1headers, Vitesse MAF chip/board, 3 inch SFR exhaust w/testpipe, SFR hardpipes, Tial wastegate, Linsey in-car MBC. I currently have an SFR turbo with a stage 3 hotside and stage 2 compressor car made 322 whp befor the Vitesse chip. The SFR turbo is probably in need of a rebuild. I am getting a lot of blue smoke under boost.

T3 is reference to the hotside and turbine wheels. The center section is the same for t3/t4.

It most likely is a to4e compressor housing with a 60-1 wheel. That however is the question is it a 60-1 new wheel or old 60 trim small wheel. You would need the inducer and exducer measurements to make sure

If it is what it says it is it is probably around a 400 hp to 450 hp turbo but the hotside will limit it.

It would be suited for a nice 951 with supporting fuel and timing.

That looks like a t04s compressor housing with 4" inlet, which won't fit with out a ton of work.

I made 400whp with a 60-1 hifi, but my hot side was much much larger. I had a stage V wheel with a .50a/r T4 turbine housing. At 400whp I had maxed out the hot side. There is now way that hot side will suport more than 350whp, tops, and thats with more back pressure than you should have.

I just want to know if 400hp will be pushing the limits of the 10cm?

I would sugest a p-trim wheel, if you want 400whp, a stage V should do 400bhp. My turbo is also for sale.

I was looking at your turbo but i just bought an sfr downpipe for a kkk. How would a p trim spool with a 3inch exhaust and mild porting?

about 4000 rpms using a .58 housing.

It would be a little quicker with a .50 that turbonetics has

I guess I should have mentioned above that the Compressor is capable of 450 , the hotside is not.

Thanks for all the input. I bought the Turbo for $700 on Ebay. I will be satisfied with 325 WHP and happier with 350 WHP I will install it in place of the SFR Stage 2/3 and send the SFR out for a rebuild. Any suggestions on where to get it rebuilt? On Related matter, I recall from my VW turbo experience that these Turbos require a pressure restricter in the oil feed line. Can anyone tell me if this is required in the 951?

I would use a restrictor of about .050

Some may not need one, but from my experience taking them apart I wouldn't trust the little rings seals to hold that much oil. That turbo does not require that much oil and pressure.

The optimum thing to do is to reduce the pressure somehow but leave the volume.

Sid, thanks for the input. I'll do that. Any idea where to get the SFR turbo rebuilt? Its running fine, but dumping oil under boost.
