Just kidding ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
When I bought my 951 back in March of 2003, the first thing I had wanted to modify was the worn leather on the shifter.

Well, I soon got involved with replacing (in no particular order)
Radiator
Fuel pump
Fuel injectors
Battery wiring
Headlight wiring
Fuel lines
Tires
Vacuum lines
Various sensors, connectors, etc
MAF
etc.
I finally ordered a replacement shift lever boot and turbo script end cap from www.rennbay.com last month.
I also went ahead and got a new shift lever from the local P-Car dealership because the old one's pin was worn:

Here's what it looks like. I think it looks very neat and clean and I'm sure my car will at least feel faster![burnout](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/burnout.gif)

for some reason when i bought my car the shift lever was perfect- almost no side to side play- and now after only about 10k miles its got tons of play! I may just have to order a new shifter.

Looks real good. C'est beau, Andre. J'ai fait la meme chose avec le mien... Our list of projects is very comparable. It is a low cost upgrade that does a lot.

Same thing happened to mine.. But I didn't realize the sleeve had the same problem so once I put the new shifter in it didn't make a huge difference and it actually ended up doing the same thing to the pin over a year or so of driving. Now I have a plastic bushing in between the sleeve and the pin and its great
.

It's an easy fix and don't forget the Loc-Tite.
