Oh, and I just found out a little bit more about the car in this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vExPd7IlCbc It's in Holland. This from the owner/driver
the engine is a 2.5 with 400 engine hp at 1.3 bar
modified turbo and carillo and c@e pistons
efi motormanagment
4 inch exhaust and wide body
We are now making it more reliable by using a 968 block with bushes which is stronger and a dry sump.
We are also thinking about a 16 valve head but that,s for later
The gt3 was a cup car with 420hp
In the second race i was in front but had to stop because i lost some oil.

37 views and no-one interested enough to post? I really like this video and salute the 951 for keeping up with such a modern race car. Maybe I'm just getting edgy to get back out there...

Well I thought it was pretty damn good ***** out driving. I assume he's on slicks but I'll try and find out. He has a widebody so must be a good size. As for being smoother with the throttle , well you'll find some that would disagree. He has a narrow power band so he's either hard on the throttle or on the brakes. Not too much time to be smooth. He had to back off a couple of times too when the GT3 was a touch slower. The biggest difference is the ability of the modern car to get it's power down sooner. This allows the GT3 to just pull away at times. Strangely he really reeled him in under brakes. Now this is 400hp at the crank. Let's see him when he has a few more horses. He was baulked by the slower traffic late as well. Gotta love the Capt. Nemo boost gauge! I must ask him what that 'pinging' or rattling sound is when he's on full boost?

Yes I've got a few questions if he replies to my reply.
Brakes, weight, tyres, ems, widebody kit, future plans etc...
I assume it's on full slicks and pretty light because that's some feat giving a GT3 Cup some curry on a comparitevly low hp engine.

That video gives me goose bumps, awesome. I don't care what people says but I have never seen a 944/951 v8 conversion pull like that, the v8 video that was posted not long ago looked like if he had no more than 300 rwhp. Thanks man cool bloody video. Btw the 951 is alll over the GT3 around the turns, the GT3 pulls aways in straights but the 951 gets closer in the turns.

Firstly I wish that were me. It a guy called Richard from the Netherlands. I think the underlying factor here is the weight of his car. Obviously with a dash like that, it's no ordinary road car. I'm guessing by just looking at how that car 'feels' by watching, that it's pretty light. That's the only way he can hang with the GT3 at such relatively low boost/hp. I hope to find out more details yet. While he was into the GT3 in many of the corners, the Cup car just layed his power down earlier and probably a bit smoother, but still a nice reminder of why we spend so much $ on our forgotten warriors lol. This is the type of racing I look forward to this upcoming season with any luck. Well there's been plenty of luck, just not much of it good. lol
